It has been a busy week here in Denver.
Lots of image catalog work getting stock photos uploaded and online at the new agencies. It’s entertaining, if not frustrating at times. There’s always one stock website that seems to be having some kind of difficulty. Without mentioning names, I was doing a 800 image batch upload to one of the agencies when somewhere around image number 250 the server started kicking back messages about quotas and such and halted the upload. The problem is, I couldn’t figure out which files made it to their processing queue and which ones just vanished into thin air. Well, some of the images finally processed after a few days, which is very very very slow by stock agency standards, so I manually walked through the files they did get and it took me the better part of yesterday to get an accurate list of what they got and didn’t get. I’ve consigned myself to simply uploading very small batches to this agency, maybe 20-30 shots at a time. The hours I spent straightening out their weird-ass process pretty much negated anything I’d make in profits for the next year.
On a brighter note, two of other new agencies are running great and I’ve got practically my entire portfolio of stock photos uploaded and online. Strange how some places have it together and others don’t.
Looking forward to my upcoming return to Monte Vista in a few weeks. Heading down with my buddy Jim. The last really good trip I had down there was 2017 and Jim was with me then. He must be good luck or something.
Now that I’ve got the stock stuff up to date for the time being, I need to get some new eye glasses. I have an appointment later today. The old glasses broke a couple of months ago and I’ve been using the backups until I had the time to get to the eye doctor. Hopefully there won’t be any surprises during the exam. My eyesight is getting worse as I grow older, so I’ve learned to expect the unexpected anytime I go to a doctor.
Have a great weekend folks.
